If the wall is chalky or shedding dust
Do not start with an additive. Clean the surface and use the right primer or sealer first. If the wall itself is turning to powder, the surface needs to be locked down before paint.
If dust is sticking to the finished paint
If fine dust clings to walls, trim, doors, or baseboards after cleaning, static and paint finish may be part of the issue. That is where anti-static paint additive language makes sense.
If the room creates heavy dust
Wood shops, garages, warehouses, and production areas still need source control. Use dust collection, filters, vacuuming, and cleaning first. RepelX supports the painted surface during repainting.
How RepelX is used
Use 1 fl oz of RepelX per 1 US gallon of compatible interior water-based latex or acrylic paint. Stir thoroughly and paint normally. For heavier airborne dust, talk with us before changing the standard dose.
Quick Questions
Should I add random products to paint?
No. Do not mix glue, cleaner, polyurethane, or unapproved chemicals into paint. Use additives designed for the paint type and test first.
Is primer still needed?
If the surface is chalky, stained, glossy, porous, or poorly bonded, primer or sealer may still be needed.
Is RepelX for paint that is already dry?
No. RepelX is mixed into compatible paint, stirred well, then painted normally.
