Pick fair test areas
Use areas that see similar airflow, dust exposure, cleaning schedules, lighting, and traffic. Good options include work rooms, plant offices, storage areas, maintenance rooms, doors, trim, and painted walls near production traffic.
Use the same paint system
Keep the paint brand, color, sheen, primer, surface prep, and application method the same. The only thing that should change is whether RepelX was added.
Compare these areas
- Control area: same paint without RepelX
- RepelX test area: 1 fl oz per gallon
- Only test a different dose if we recommend it for the job
Do not overdose
Ask us before changing the dose. More additive does not automatically mean better dust resistance and can start to affect the finish.
What to measure
Take photos after painting, then again after normal facility exposure. Ask maintenance, cleaning, and operations staff which area looks better, cleans easier, and still looks like the intended paint finish.
